Are you wondering how to talk to your doctor about medical cannabis?
To help answer this question I speak with a patient advocate and medical cannabis consultant David Hutchinson.
To listen to this episode right here on the website you can press the green triangle below.
As you’ll hear in the podcast episode David is a very unlikely medical cannabis advocate.
Why unlikely? Because he spent over 20 years in the British Military as an officer in the Royal Air Force.

He was indoctrinated with anti-cannabis messaging that is common to everyone in our society for the last few decades, but particularly common in the armed forces.
It was only due to tragic family circumstances that David was introduced to the possibilities of medical cannabis.
Please have a listen…I think you’ll be very impressed with David’s storytelling abilities and years of accumulated knowledge about medical cannabis.
The take home lessons he provides on how to talk to your doctor about medical cannabis include:
- If you bring in articles to your doctor make sure they’re from scientific publications (choose studies from journals such as the Lancet or the New England Journal of Medicine), and not just from a website trying to sell you something
- Be brave
- Ask for your doctor’s support in your decision
- Don’t assume you know what your doctor will say…one way or the other, and it doesn’t depend on the doctor’s age either
David does offer medical cannabis consulting via Skype
If you want to contact him to discuss if medical cannabis is right for you, you can email him at dhutchcan (@) gmail.com
(Omit the parentheses when you’re emailing him…I’ve written it like this so he doesn’t get bombarded by spam.)
I hope this podcast helps you.
